The role of Environmental Advisor is critical to the sound environmental management of all ACA’s operations. The primary role of an Environmental Advisor is to guide other personnel on steps that need to be taken to protect environmental values. Other aspects of the role are development of environmental management plans, monitoring and reporting environmental performance, and meeting legislative requirements.

As a Graduate Environmental Advisor you will become an important member of the Environmental team. You will receive invaluable exposure to an array of environmental management issues including environmental impact studies, incorporation of environmental impact controls into mine design, environmental protection during mine operation and mine closure.

During the program you will develop a detailed understanding of measures needed to protect environmental values that may be affected by coal mining, such as water resources (surface and groundwater), air quality (including greenhouse gas emissions), land capability, flora and fauna (biodiversity) and waste management.

You will receive experience within 2 of ACA’s operational areas, to develop an appreciation for the work involved.
