Safety and Health Improvement (S&HI)

As a S&HI professional we are tasked with providing strategic operational support and guidance to all Anglo Coal Australia mining operations, including the Brisbane Corporate Office (BCO), projects and exploration units.

Our roles are critical to the ongoing vision of achieving Zero Harm in our current and envisioned operations. As an active team member you will lead by example in all that you do to ensure that safety standards are maintained, communicated effectively and easily understood. 

As a safety professional at any level within the organisation you will provide support and guidance by continually improving S&H performance and systems through:

•        Contributing to the implementation and monitoring of the Target Zero Action Plans and Zero Harm initiatives

•        Develop Risk Management skills and lead risk assessments

•        Conduct incident investigations, analyse trends and develop initiatives to prevent reoccurrence

•        Participating in the management of domestic and global projects and initiatives such as the Safety Leadership Program, the Global target Zero Action Plan and the Fatal Risk Standards

•        Developing, maintaining , continuously improving the Safety, Health, Environment and Community Management System (SHECMS) policies and  standards (through auditing)

•        Actively coordinating S&H data management and reporting through the use of the ACA reporting tool, SiteSafe Impact (reporting and analysis database)

•        Sharing S&H data between all ACA operations, for example the Significant Incident Video Conference

•        Participating as an active member of SHE work groups and committees
