How To Apply

Thank you for your interest in working with Anglo Coal Australia. 

To assist us in processing applications, we have recently upgraded our electronic recruitment database.  As a result, we require you to complete an application form electronically via the Anglo Coal website.

The website can be accessed via the following steps:-

  1. You are now in the Anglo Coal Australia Careers Website
  2. Select ‘Careers’ and then click on the ‘Job Search Programme’ link
  3. Do a search. An example of a search can be by Location Biloela, Central Qld’ and/or SiteAnglo Coal Callide’, this will list current jobs. Tick the left hand box against the relevant job and select ‘View Selected Jobs’.
  4. Alternatively, if you know the Job No. this can be entered in the Job No.field and click search.
  5. Read about the position and click on ‘Apply’ and complete the e-application form – note an * highlights mandatory fields and you will not be able to complete and successfully submit your application unless you enter a response in these fields.
  6. Attach your resume via Attach File ‘Browse’.  This must be within a format recognizable to Anglo systems eg Microsoft Word (.doc) or a .pdf, and less than 2mb in size.  If you scan certificates these may need to be compressed due to size limitations on electronic files.  You may prefer to list certificates and produce originals at interview stage.

        Tips to help reduce your file size:

    • Compress pictures to make them smaller
    • Use JPEG format for images and set your scanner for web or email quality
    • In newer versions of MS Word you can click ‘Compress Pictures’ on the Picture toolbar

Once you have completed the application form, attached your resume and covering letter, be sure to submit application.  You will be presented with a screen advising your ‘Application has been submitted’ followed by an automatic reply email.  If you have not answered one or more of the mandatory questions, you will not be able to submit the application and will be advised to return to the section to answer the questions.  NoteIf you Save draft and exit you will need to complete the application as incomplete applications are automatically deleted from the system within 7 days.

Please note; you cannot use the same email address as somebody else who wants to apply for positions with Anglo Coal. If you do not have an email address, you will need to establish an email account for our electronic system.  Email accounts can be established free of charge and whilst we do not promote any particular provider you might like to explore options available by accessing  www.hotmail.com or www.yahoo.com or www.gmail.com and following their new account instructions.  Once established, your account can be readily accessed through your local library or a friend or relatives computer.  You will need to check your new email account once a month for it to remain active, or it will expire and we will not be able to contact you with updates.  All applications must be made online.   If you are having trouble completing the application please contact the Brisbane or Site HR Department for where you are applying to.

Your e-mail address is important!

Please ensure that your e-mail address is correct and that you can regularly check your e-mail at this address.

All e-mail communication about the progress of your job application will be sent to the address.

Please note you will receive a warning message after 3 incorrect login attempts to the recruitment database.  After 5 invalid login attempts your account will be locked out and you will need to contact us for the account to be re-enabled.  Please refrain from creating a new e-mail address as the electronic system will flag potential duplicates and you will still need to contact a system administrator to successfully submit your application.  It is critical each applicant has their own unique email address.

Once you have applied for a particular position you cannot go back and change your application form or submit a cover letter etc  for that position.  You will however at any stage be able to update your profile by accessing the Applicant services homepage.  This includes the ability to access other facilities such as:

  • Update Profile (allows you to keep your profile information up-to-date eg address, phone # changes)
  • Update Resume (allows you to keep your resume up to date by adding/deleting as need be)
  • Change password (update your password and secret question/answer)
  • Remove account (allows you to remove your personal details and all job applications)

You can also check the progress of your application, by logging into ‘Existing applicant sign-in under the Careers section of the website.  It will ask you for a password, if you do not already have one (eg previously applied with Anglo via our previous electronic recruitment program), please select ‘forgotten password’ to have a new password emailed to you, and retain this for future use on our website.

You may also wish to utilize our on-line Job Alert functionality – this allows you to create a job alert which triggers an email to you when a position becomes available that matches your search criteria.
