Drayton Expansion
Drayton is a joint venture of Anglo Coal Australia, Mitsui, Hyundai and Daesung. The project is proposing to extend the mine life to 2016 and increase production to 5.5 Mtpa.
Environmental assessment and extension of planning approvals is in progress.
The resource consists of steaming coal and a small percentage of potential semi-soft coal. Mining methods will be open cut with a continuation of the existing dragline and excavator/truck operation.
